Past experience:
I graduated from Notre Dame University in Fremantle in 2009 and returned to my home state of Melbourne to complete my General Practice training.
Amongst the endless study and training, I married my wife, Tanya and we had our two beautiful daughters Charlotte and Isabelle so we were quite busy! I also completed extra training in paediatrics through the child health diploma. We are now locals in Perth and I have returned to working at Notre Dame on a part time basis as an educator for medical students.
What I enjoy about being a GP:
I have always wanted to be a GP. We need to be the advocates for our patients and the central contact point in their day to day health and wellbeing. It is a great privilege to be able to get to know patients, to meet their families and hear about their lives over an extended period of time. I love the variety in general practice and the constant daily learning required to keep up to date.
Interests:
Outside work I am a spin instructor at the gym. This keeps me active and reminds me of the importance of exercise. I try to maintain work-life balance and to spend lots of quality time with my family. We enjoy outings to Fremantle beach and the park on a regular basis! In AFL, I go for the Geelong Cats, but don't hold that against me!
