Mental Health Consultations at Queensgate

Your GP is the best place to start for most mental health conditions. Doctors can provide treatment or refer you to other services to ensure you receive the best care. To help your Doctor understand what you are experiencing it is recommended that you take some time, ahead of your visit to note down:

  • Your symptoms or how you feel

  • Your concerns

  • How what you feel has affected your life

Our team of experienced Doctors and Psychologists work together to offer a range of mental health solutions including counselling to couples, families, adults and children. Our highly experienced team  have experience assisting clients with a wide range of concerns and life transitions including:

  • Stress or anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss, perhaps associated with death of a loved one, separation or divorce, miscarriage, or loss/change of employment

  • Difficulties coping with parenting

  • School related stress, including peer/friendship issues, coping with an academic workload.

  • Antenatal and postnatal depression and/or anxiety

  • Relationship counseling, including marriage or “moving in together” preparation

  • Poor sleep quality or habits

  • Family relationship distress – individual counseling for managing challenging relationships with family members

At Queensgate Medical Centre, we understand patient confidentiality is extremely important therefore when booking your appointment simply call our friendly reception staff and request a long appointment with your Doctor. This will allow appropriate time for you and your Doctor to understand your concerns to make sure you receive the best possible care and attention.
