To be eligible for a Medicare rebate for our telehealth services, patients must have had a face-to-face consultation with their GP (or another GP in the same practice) in the 12 months before the telehealth service.
If the appointment is regarding your child, your child must be present during the consultation as this is a Medicare requirement.
To participate in a Telehealth session with a doctor you will need:
-
A private and comfortable space
-
A reliable phone line
We also recommend that you limit all distractions in both your physical environment and your devices to ensure your full focus can remain on the consultation. Please also avoid driving, eating and/or drinking alcohol during the appointment.
Late or Non Cancellation of Appointments
Please provide a minimum of 2 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment. We can relocate your appointment to someone on our waiting list. If an appointment is missed or reception is not adequately notified a late or non-cancellation administration charge will apply.
Home Visits
Home visits may be available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. Assessment via telehealth will be conducted in the first instance.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Queensgate Medical Centre, we recognise our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact and contribute tot Queensgate Medical Centre, we understand that our role in supporting community health goes beyond medical care — it includes protecting the environment we all share. We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint and contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future.
Our Environmental Commitments:
Energy Efficiency & Emissions Reduction
We are actively working to reduce our energy consumption by improving efficiency, integrating renewable energy solutions where feasible, and adopting low-emission technologies. Our facility uses automatic shut-off timers and occupancy sensors to optimise lighting usage.
Waste Reduction & Responsible Resource Use
We minimise waste through careful segregation, robust recycling practices, and reducing our reliance on single-use products. Where possible, we opt for sustainable alternatives — for example, we use washable linen instead of disposable materials.
Sustainable Transport Options
We support low-carbon travel by offering telehealth services to reduce unnecessary trips and encouraging eco-friendly commuting options for both staff and patients.
Engaging Our Community
Sustainability is a shared responsibility. We foster a culture of environmental awareness through ongoing staff education, patient engagement, and collaboration with like-minded partners.
Digital-First Approach
To reduce paper usage, we prioritise digital solutions for patient records, prescriptions, and referrals, ensuring smoother, more sustainable workflows.
Reducing Clinical Waste
We work closely with our suppliers to explore reusable options for clinical equipment where it is safe to do so — including surgical instruments — and continue to refine our waste management practices.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we practice and maintain a commitment to providing culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
